- According to an Associate Professor of Food Safety at China Agricultural University [Beijing], SuperMeat, an Israeli meat company, produces two types of “vegan meat” including one derived from plant proteins and another derived from lab-grown meat.
- In September 2017, China and Israel signed a USD 300 million clean technology agreement that would permit Chinese companies to work with Israeli companies. The Israel Innovation Authority and Israel Export Institute (IEICI) participated in this deal.
- Founded in December 2015 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, SuperMeat is a startup company that is carrying out research on bioengineering cultured meat. Their current (as of mid-2017) focus was on lab-grown chicken meat.
