- Shandong’s Weichai Group [diesel engines producer] and Belarus’ MAZ [i.e. Minsk Automobile Plant] signed an agreement that would see Weichai enter the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone [located near Minsk]. Weichai will work with MAZ to construct engines.
- In June 2017, according to the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister, officials from China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) will inspect meat processing facilities. A month later in July, an agreement will reportedly be signed that will allow Belarus to export beef to China. At the time, Belarus had 34 dairy companies that can export to mainland China. During the same month, two Chinese companies (Xinrongji Holding Group and DRex Food Group) announced they would invest upwards of USD 1 billion in Belarus. In addition, Chinese companies/investors would also reportedly purchase a stake in Belarus’ Bank Moscow-Minsk and establish a manufacturing company that produces polylactide, a [biodegradable] type of material that can be used as a substitute for plastic and polyethylene packaging. The polylactide factory would be located in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.
- In February 2017, a Belarusian-Chinese company (producer of construction and utilities special-purpose vehicles) was registered in the Mogilev Free Enterprise Zone, eastern Belarus.
