  • In June 2017, freight train service between Kunming, Yunnan Province, and Hai Phong Port, Vietnam, began operation. The Kunming-Hai Phong freight train service will run weekly, with hopes of daily service in the future.
  • In March 2017, a new sea freight route (operated by China COSCO Shipping Corporation) between Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh and China’s Fangchenggang was launched. Located in Guangxi Region near Vietnam, Fangchenggang Port is considered a major transport hub for fruit. Shipping service between the port and Ho Chi Minh City currently runs once a week, but officials hope this will increase to twice or three times per week by the end of the year.
