Tianjin Customs in north China announced on Wednesday [5 July 2017] that it has smashed a smuggling case involving some 5 million liters of wine, beers and mineral water. - Tianjin Customs agents seized more than 720,000 bottles (worth ~CNY 60 million or ~USD 8.8 million) of beverages that were illegally imported from the USA, Mexico, the UK, France, and Russia.
- In June 2017, Huangpu Customs (Guangzhou) agents seized 490 MTs of smuggled of wine. The wine smugglers were reportedly active in the Guangdong cities of Zhuhai, Dongguan, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
