- Huangpu Customs (Guangzhou) seized 490 MTs of smuggled of wine. The smugglers were active in the Guangdong cities of Zhuhai, Dongguan, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
- In March 2017, Huangpu Customs uncovered four companies that were suspected of smuggling red wine via the southern ports of Huangpu, Gongbei, and Guangzhou.
- Since 2011, approximately 2,000 MTs of red had been smuggled into China via Macau and other locations.
- In June 2017, China’s General Administration of Customs (GAC) carried out an anti-rice smuggling (originally sourced from Myanmar and Vietnam) operation in the provinces of Yunnan, Guangdong, Hubei and Shaanxi, as well as Chongqing Municipality. Approximately 2,000 MTs was seized as a result.
