- On 7 November 2015, People’s Republic of China President Xi Jinping and the Taiwan’s President Ma Ying-jeou met in Singapore. This was the first such high level meeting since the end of the Chinese Civil War in 1949. During the same month, Taiwan commodity center opened in Shanghai’s Free Trade Zone (FTZ). For six months, Taiwanese goods were sold directly within the Shanghai FTZ, while the FTZ itself will marketed the goods on its e-commerce platform.
