- Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food voiced his support of agricultural cooperation with China during a MoU signing between the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries (APACCCEEC) and the Bulgarian-Chinese Business Development Association (BCBDA).
- In April 2014, Bulgaria was seeking to host the Agro Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum between China and Central Eastern European Countries (started in 2010), which has traditionally been hosted in China.
- In September 2013, the 8th Agro-trade & Economic Cooperation Forum between China and Central-Eastern European Countries was held in Hefei, Anhui Province.
- Launched in 2012, Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (aka the 16+1 mechanism) serves to promote economic trade between participating European countries and China. In 2012, China-CEE leaders met in Warsaw, followed by Bucharest (2013) and Belgrade (2014).
