- Starting in 2014, a winery based in Mytilene, capital of Lesbos, began participating in Shanghai wine expos. The winery exports approximately 30,000 bottles of wine to Shanghai and 20,000 bottles to California per year.
- From 2011 to 2015, Chinese (incl. Hong Kong and Macau) imports of Greek wine decreased from US$2.6 million to US$1.7 million. In 2013, Chinese imports of Greek wine hit a peak of US$2.9 million.
- In March 2014, Achaia Clauss, a famed Greek winery, was exploring the Chinese market. The winery produces 6 million liters of wine annually, with 70% of production destined for the export market (~40 countries).
