ChinaAg Comment

  • Chinese rapeseed production was relatively flat throughout the 2000s. From 2004 to 2011, output ranged from a high of 13.6 million MTs in 2009 to a low of 10.5 million MTs in 2007. During this period, yields were been stagnant at roughly 1.8 to 1.9 MTs per hectare. From 2009 to 2010, rapeseed oil topped 5.2 million MTs, but has since declined to 4.8 million MTs in 2011.
