China produced 690,800 tons of sugar, white value, in November 2012, up considerably from 416,800 in the same month last year and also above the 637,700 tons produced in November 2010, China Sugar Association (CSA) data showed.

This brought total output in the first two months of the new 2012/13 (Oct/Sep) season to 857,700 tons, up from 619,800 produced in the same period a year ago. Beet sugar production rose only fractionally to 482,700 tons from 478,700 in the corresponding period last year, but cane sugar production is up sharply at 375,000 tons from 141,100 last year.
